Blogging has become really popular and it no news that there is now an army of bloggers on the internet all blogging on various information.
It has however been discovered that 80% percent of bloggers fail in their first 9 months.
I failed in my first blog and i got tired of blogging till i realized that i was doing something very silly and wrong so i decided to start again.
I must really confess that my first attempt to blogging taught me alot that i will never forget.
Just like any other venture the art of blogging has it’s own do’s and dont’s.
If these procedures are not well studied and followed, failure becomes inevitable.
As stated above, i made a very big mistake when i started by blog and i did not arm myself with enough information to help me succeed.
This section is going to expatiate more on my failure as a blogger and i hope you do learn from that.
I started by first blog in the year 2014, when i was actually seeking an alternative source of income.
I was just a new high school leaver and life was very tough for me as a Nigerian, I hope you know that Nigeria has been full of shit lately.
We have very silly leaders in government who do not care for the welfare of the people.
I had very little knowledge and very huge gap in my understanding of the blogging and even using the computer.
My environment itself was not encouraging, I had no access to a computer or power to help me push my first online business venture in the name of blogging.
Nigeria is known to experience power failure since it independence.
I however was very brave and determined to succeed so i set out on a journey of no return.
However i was motivated by a famous female blogger in Nigeria at that time and her name was Linda Ikeji, I heard of how very rich she was and how she made money from her blog which was enough to buy her a mansion worth $3 Million dollars.
I was very determined to duplicate what she has done hoping i would get the same result. ooo!!! very foolish of me.
Here comes my first mistake.
I choose the wrong niche for my Blog. At that time, the blogger i so much adored was blogging majorly on gossips around Nigeria that time.
She was very popular for destroying the lives of young and hardworking Nigerians with false information most times and this brought a lot of Traffic to her website making her website the most visited in Nigeria at that point in time.
I decided to follow her niche and started copying every shitty post i found online.
Unfortunately for me i could not carry on again because i was not getting traffic and i was not posting information on time.
A lot of my friends became my enemies and insulted my blog for wrong and untimely information.
This was the first mistake i made as a blogger unknowing to me.
Afterwards, i went on to make the second mistake which was choosing the wrong blogging platform.
I was a very young new school leaver with no money at all, so i looked for free web hosting services and free blogging platforms which led me to my second biggest mistake which was choosing Google Blogger as my Blogging platform.
It was actually very free but i was very far from flexibility and making money with the Google Blogger platform.
Anyway, what do i have to loose i did not pay for hosting and i got a free domain name. Oh!!! what a very big mistake.
My worst and deadliest mistake was to pray all night for Google Adsense approval which i eventually got and was banned after making the sum of $5.
I was actually banned for plagiarism purpose. Google actually detected that my contents were not genuine and they where all lifted somewhere on the internet.
Oh!!!! What a pity.
In conclusion, i kept blogging false contents and posting irrelevant information for over one year, I was always happy because i was set out to duplicated the contents and efforts of Linda Ikeji eventually i got burned out and finally quit blogging and moved on to get a job as a teacher and started learning web development and digital marketing on my spare time.
I hope you learnt a lot from this and make sure you never make the same silly mistake.
I hope you learnt a lot from this and make sure you never make the same silly mistake.
From the above stated story here are very few lessons and points to be extracted .
