causes of depression.
According to health and medical experts at Harvard here are the major causes of depression.
Stress have been a major cause of depression and should be avoided at all cost.
At some point, nearly everyone encounters stressful life events: the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, an illness, or a relationship spiraling downward.
Some must cope with the early loss of a parent, violence, or sexual abuse.
While not everyone who faces these stresses develops a mood disorder — in fact, most do not .
stress plays an important role in depression.
As the previous section explained, your genetic makeup influences how sensitive you are to stressful life events. When genetics, biology, and stressful life situations come together, depression can result.
2.Early Loss and Trauma.
Another major causes of depression have been identified and it is vast spreading the rise of depression.
Certain events can have lasting physical, as well as emotional, consequences.
Researchers have found that early losses and emotional trauma may leave individuals more vulnerable to depression later in life.
Profound early losses, such as the death of a parent or the withdrawal of a loved one’s affection, may resonate throughout life, eventually expressing themselves as depression.
When an individual is unaware of the wellspring of his or her illness, he or she can’t easily move past the depression.
Moreover, unless the person gains a conscious understanding of the source of the condition, later losses or disappointments may trigger its return.
Many researchers believe that early trauma causes subtle changes in brain function that account for symptoms of depression and anxiety.
The key brain regions involved in the stress response may be altered at the chemical or cellular level.
3. Medical Problems.
Depression have also been discovered to be deeply rooted in medical problems.
Most of which have led to fatal medical conditions.
Certain medical problems are linked to lasting, significant mood disturbances. In fact, medical illnesses or medications may be at the root of up to 10% to 15% of all depressions.
Among the best-known culprits are two thyroid hormone imbalances. An excess of thyroid hormone (hyperthyroidism) can trigger manic symptoms.
On the other hand, hypothyroidism, a condition in which your body produces too little thyroid hormone, often leads to exhaustion and depression.
Heart disease has also been linked to depression, with up to half of heart attack survivors reporting feeling blue and many having significant depression.
Depression can spell trouble for heart patients: it’s been linked with slower recovery, future cardiovascular trouble, and a higher risk of dying within about six months.

So many doctors have postulated solutions for depression but i am going to lay down some very few solutions that has worked for me over the years and please pardon me i am not a doctor of any sort.
More reason i cannot recommend any sort of medical prescription for you because i am not a doctor.
I am going to be coming from a more social and psychological angle on how to overcoming depression.
1. Always Leave Room For Little Disappointment.
I was watching a reality TV show sometimes ago and i stumbles upon a quote which was stated by an evicted contestant and it says
No matter how positive you are, always leave room for little disappointment.
Studies has show that the first signs of depression is likely to awaken from faulty relationships whether it be a very close or a trustworthy friend or a lover.
Dear reader, you should learn and never dispute the fact that change is constant and people are limited by resources around them, this does not make them bad people but this in-turn teaches you to be always ready to accept and live with every manner of differences that you might encounter while dealing with people.
And if the relationship in question is one that involves a Lover, you should also bear in mind that there is no one man for every one woman, as a man or a woman you have thousands of match-mates.
If the relationship in question is not working, don’t get too attached as not to let go, i know it very hard especially for women because they tend to love very hard than men, but my one time advice to you is to move on, when one door closes another opens already most times we stare too much at the former door.
2. Pick Up A Passion, Develop A Talent.
Another popular proverb popularly used in christian setting is.
An Idle Mind Is A devil Workshop.
Suicidal thoughts, Feeling of worthlessness tends to creep in when we have nothing doing or no ambition in sight and the only way to tackle this feeling is to engage our mind in one or two things, you can pick up a passion in humanitarian services, or better still developer a long-hidden talent.

Dear reader, whether you believe it or not, there is a creator somewhere and he overseas the warfare of men/
we are also meant to understand that he sent his only begotten son Jesus to die for the whole world even if his own people do not believe in him , he promises to send us a comforter called the holy spirit to guide us while he goes to prepare a place for us in heaven.
You can only receive this comforter only if you believe in Jesus Christ and accept him as your personal lord and savior.
One of the duties of the comforter is to teach us all things known and unknown to this world, to ease our pain and lastly to put us right whenever we are going wrong.
