For example. If you are a digital marketing agency you can simply write a blog post on “Why you should take your business online” and highlight the reason why your readers should have a website.
Whenever someone looks up something related to that article via the search engine he/she can come across your post and contact you for a deal.
This form of monetization is called online consultations. I wrote an article on how you can monetize your blog with various means, here is a link to it.
4. Blogging is a means of Passive Income.
Blogging as a means of making money online has become so prominent that most people have built their lives around it.
Globally we have people who were broke in the last decade of their lives and become millionaires by just blogging as a profession.
You can choose to start blogging as a profession or as a side hustle and still make a whole lot of money from it.
One thing about blogging is that when you start to eventually make money from it, your profit begins to grow over time, and this is directly proportional to the value your blog adds and the rate at which your traffic is.
Making money from blogging is not easy, and this is why you have to properly strategise as to make it full time. Sadly, there are so many blogs but very few of them are doing very well.
This is why I wrote the article below on how you can choose an effective means and method to start making money, you can click the link below to get started.
5. Blogging Helps You To Develop Technological Skills
Most people are scared to start a blog because they are not technologically sound and they feel it too hard to get started.
Topics like website design, coding and SEO tends to put most people off, but this is not true.
The moment you get started with your blog, you tend to be a dummy at first, but after seeking out resources online you will get very good.
When I started blogging, I knew nothing about code but after visiting and revisiting tech blogs that narrates how to solve basic tech problems, I started getting very good at what I do.
Just after over four years of blogging, I am now a web developer and search engine optimization expert, all thanks to blogging.
My advice to you as a non-techie person to get started with blogging and lose your fear.
6. You Will Eventually gain confidence.
There are so many ways to develop personal confidence and one of them is by starting a blog.
Are you born as a shy person and need a centre stage to start developing your confidence then you should start a blog.
The moment you publish your first blog post and start getting a lot of attention and consultation guidance you are sure to have a confidence boost because so many people would be willing to learn from the table of your knowledge.
Blogging connects you with a lot of people and some of them would eventually want to be friends with you, to be able to connect with them you need to step out of your shell.
7. You Get To Experience Personal Growth
It’s far more than learning new skills and the confidence you gain from launching and growing a successful business.
It fundamentally changes who you are as a person. It teaches you to be more patient, be more resilient, takes risks, seizes opportunities, says no to the wrong things and chase after the right things, spends money shrewdly, plans carefully, set goals, be resourceful, manages your time well, learns quickly and much more besides.
I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I am a better person because of blogging.
8. Blogging Helps You To Attract A Huge Audience
One of the very few ways to make money in the information age is the use of having traffic.
Every success you see on the internet today is a result of a huge audience. Top platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram are still in business because of the huge audience that they attract every single day.
A lot of transaction tends to take place when a huge number of people are gathered at one particular spot. Think of things like sales, conversions and even leverage.
9. Expose your ideas to a larger network
Just like social media influencing, blogging is another way to become an internet influencer.
The moment you publish your first post, so many people are ready to be influenced by your idea and this can give you a voice among the majority.
While growing up on the internet, I had a lot of blogs that I loved to read and this contributed to the ways I approached problems thanks to these individuals.
Now that you understand the benefits of starting a blog, it high time to start yours, all you need do is buy a domain and a web host from Bluehost for as low as $3.
Big Lessons Learnt from Blogging.
I have started over 3 blogs in the last few years and I am glad to tell you that only this blog remains successful so far, and I am going to be stating some life lessons that you should learn, just in case you decide to start yours.
1. Blogging Is The Best Way To Influence.
I see so many people stress themselves all because they want to become brand influencers on social media. After so many years of hard work, they get all the huge followership only to discover that they are not driving enough engagement.
Most of these individuals with huge followership and verified accounts even go around pleading for brands to sign them up.
I am not again being a Social media influencer, all I am saying is that there is a better method to become a trustworthy influencer in your industry, and that method remains Blogging.
2. Quality Content Matters And Not Quantity.
Most newbies become bloggers and begin to post every junk they find online, while they think they are developing a strong look for their blog, this can damage their reputation and discourage readers from reading to their blog, yet even take relevant actions.
The blogging formula is very easy for newbies blogger; Pick a niche, write relevant contents on that niche, even if it’s only 20 articles you can produce, leave it that way and let Google do the rest for you.
3. The Longer You Stay The More Relevant You Become.
Just as the real estate industry works, the same applies to blogging, all you need do is to try and stay longer, don’t give up.
The hardest part of blogging most times is the first one and the half years, after that, the big breakthrough comes.
Mind you the breakthrough in blogging only comes if you are writing relevant content, if your content is based on viral pieces of stuff this is not for you, because you have more work to do.
4. Your Blog Is Always Yours.
Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram all have policies that should not be violated when these rules are violated, then you have to dance to the music.
These guys won’t care if you have over Ten Million followers, once these policies are violated, you go down, compared to when you run your own blog, everything that you do belongs to you, nobody gives you the rule to abide with.
5. There Are Diverse Ways To Make Money Blogging.
So many bloggers are fond of singing the popular melody called “Google Adsense”, the downside of things is that when these guys eventually get banned by Google Adsense, they give up hope on blogging and go to do something else. The wealthy blogs on earth do not make use of Google Adsense, though most of them do.
There are over 30 ways to make money as a blogger, I wrote a guide to help you get started, click the link below to learn more.
6. Patience Is Key.
Patience is one virtue that is scarce among newbies bloggers, they want instant gratification for all their supposed hard work. These gratifications will come but you need to be very patient for it to become a reality.
Most bloggers do not make money in the first years, but as time goes on it begins to change, and overnight, a fruitless blog begins to generate thousands in dollars.
Blogging is not magic.
You have to invest deeply into it before you start getting results, Blogging is a 24-Month plan, most blogger becomes successful after 9-months, the majority after a year and so on.
7. Don’t Go Too Narrow When Choosing A Niche.
Another lesson I learnt was the need to choose a shoulder niche as a blogger, blogging on a singular niche can be very difficult to compete with other established brands in that industry.
Many shoulder niche topics can blend with all kind of niche blogs, some of which includes motivation, entrepreneurship and even marketing.
This blogs majorly deals with digital marketing but, focuses on three other shoulder niches such as Travels, Motivation and Entrepreneurship which helps bring supplementary traffic to another post on this blog.
Imagine having to deal with marketing experts like MOZ, Neil Patel and many of these established brand that has been in the business longer than I was, It would become very hard to rank alongside this guys, and even if I eventually do, It would take time.
I know that the law says, pick a niche and write about that niche passionately, but to avoid putting your eggs in one basket, you should also divert a little bit.
8. Don’t Go Too broad When Choosing A Niche.
Most bloggers take it as a routine to post as many contents as possible because they think that having more contents brings your blog more traffic. This makes them go very broad in their niche, most blogger even goes to the extent of adding a news section to their niche blog.
The downside about going too broad when blogging is that, your audience would not take you too seriously, and would eventually doubt your authenticity, they would also not see you as an authority.
The bottom line is, don’t go too broad so that you can have many articles on your website; as I have always said, blogging is not about the quantity of your content, but the quality.
I have seen blogs with less than 10 quality contents rank so well on Google and even generate more organic traffic than websites with thousands of meaningless contents.
Go after quality contents as a blogger, and this can only be achieved by developing yourself on a particular topic, read and study other blogs in your niche, you can use other blogs as a yardstick to develop your own blog authority.
9. Don’t Waste Time On Paid Traffic.
One mistake I see most bloggers make is trying to run paid ads to an article on their blog, and I laugh when I see these ads on Google and even Facebook.
The downside of this is that such traffic would get a very high bounce rate, which means getting clicks that do not convert, and this is because they stumbled on your ad by chance, in other words, they were not really hungry for that information, which means that they are likely to take it for granted.
You need to create a hunger for information, and one way this can happen is by optimizing your contents for search engines, this way only people who really seek out this information would get access to it and value it in the end.
10. Social Media Is Not Your Thing As A Blogger.
I know it’s a proper tradition to use every possible means to promote your blog, most especially the use of social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
The truth about these platforms is that they only work for websites/blogs with viral contents when I say this I mean blogs that post news contents, entertainments, and buzz.
If your blog niche is tied around marketing, or other serious niches, then you might it very difficult to generate traffic or even engagements via social media.
As a niche blogger, not all social media are worth your time, and I mean this, you should focus on optimizing your blog for search engine traffic to attract the right kind of audience.
Audience acquired via organic traffic can then be converted into social media followers, trust me, organic traffic is the best when it comes to engagement on social media.
When I started this blog, I tried running paid ads to my Facebook page so that I could convert it to traffic on my blog, but guess what, it was a complete waste of time, because not even up to 10% of those followers engaged my Website, ever since then I focused more on search engine optimization for all my articles, most of which I converted into my Twitter followers, and I suggest you do so.
Readers are acquainted that affiliate links are used and that when a user clicks one of those links and makes a purchase, the blog owner makes a small commission.
How to Start Your Blog and Make Money.
One of the simplest online business models on the internet is to start a blog, It’s so much easy that there over 1 billion blogs on the internet with over 7 billion readers all over the world.
Unlike then, when we have very few blogs, but we can see that from these stats, the blogosphere is becoming more and more competitive, and the competitive nature is causing more and more blogs to fail every day.
Failure to follow the eight procedures thoroughly can bring about failing.
1. Choose a specific Niche or Topic.
A Niche or a Blog Topic is simply an area or a category we are interested in or passionate about. You do not necessarily need to have a wider scope of what you intend to blog about.
All you need is a passion, drive, and willingness no learn and do more research about that particular Niche or Topic.
When you’re starting a new blog, the question shouldn’t be, What is my niche? But, Who is my audience and what point am I trying to solve?
To offer a valuable product on your blog and make money, you need to solve a pain point that an audience is willing to spend money on.
As a blogger, you need to understand your audience’s challenges deeply so that you can offer them exactly what they want. And the best place to start is by looking at yourself. Ask yourself, What audiences am I a part of?
Here is an article on choosing a blogging niche and I recommend that you read the article.
2. Buy A Domain Name And A Webhost.
A domain name is a unique address of your website and it can be used to find your website from anywhere in the world. A perfect example of a domain name is.
My suggestion is to be creative in picking a domain name as domain names are permanent and cannot be changed when they have been bought or else you intend to pay for another.
Here are a few things you should not do when selecting the domain name for your new blog:
- Don’t use a too long domain name. Try to keep it simple as possible Ex: Tchelete
- Always go for a .com domain because they are more favoured on search engines than any other domain extension. This does not mean that search engines reject other domain extensions just it safer to be on the winning side.
- Make sure you avoid hyphens also when choosing a domain name for your blog.
To buy a domain name for as low as $3, you can visit Bluehost to get started
Here is an article I recommend for you to read and understand the proper procedures for choosing a perfect domain name.
A web host is a server that would hold your web assets (images, video ) and useful resources that would make your website work. Think of a web server as a kind of cloud service. All web services make uses of a cloud service called a web host. To make your blog a complete machine, you need to buy the two alongside each other.
There are so many technicalities involved in starting a blog and this is why I recommend you select the best tools on the internet to get the job done.
One of the factors that I recommend you put in mind when starting a blog is a web host and a domain. A domain and a web host has a lot to do with the success of your blog.
This is why I recommend Bluehost to any newbie blogger on the internet.
Also, if your blog is not initially hosted with Bluehost and you intend to make a shift, then you are welcome to the Bluehost family.

2. WP Last Modified Info.
As a blogger, you would constantly need to update old a post with new content and republish them again so they look like fresh new content.
Most WordPress themes usually display the date a post was last written. For most blogs and static websites, this is perfect. However, websites where old articles are regularly updated also use WordPress.
With this plugin, you users get to see a validated post and be sure of the date and timestamps
This can only be made possible with the help of this Plugin. The default WordPress behaviour only shows the initial date the article was published and this is bad for search engines.

Just like any industry in the world, the internet has its laws guiding its operation. Most of these laws are created to regulate the internet. Without properly adhering to these regulations in check, your online business might not be seen as a serious entity, and you would be treated as a scam.
Advertising platforms like Google Adsense, Ezoic and even some affiliate programs make it mandatory that your website follows the internet regulations.
Don’t also forget that even world nations like the US and Europe have also enacted some laws to regulate the internet.
Don’t fret, this is not a big deal at all, you are no going to be seeing a lawyer or hiring a law consulting firm, all you have to do is make sure your website complies with the major laws guiding the internet.
To make sure this is in place all you need to do is create some standalone pages alongside your website, These pages are; About Page, Privacy Page, Contact Us and Affiliate Disclosure.
The About page of your website should contain deep information about what your website is about, back in the days when the internet was new, having an about us page did not matter, but with the release of the E-A-T update, it became necessary to flaunt your expertise on a particular topic, to rank higher on the search engine.
Note that without this in place, you can write all you can, follow up on all the SEO principles, and you would not still rank well on search engines.
Also, the About page should contain your personal portfolio and the number of awards and qualifications that you have on that particular topic that you intend to write about. The idea behind this is to curb the spread of false information all over the internet and prevent searchers from getting information from the wrong person.
I wrote a comprehensive guide on how to get started with SEO and also how to recover from a Google algorithm update. To get a deeper understanding of how this works, follow the link to the article below.
In the US, the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) decrees that if you collect any personal information from any California-based users, such as email addresses, GPS location, phone numbers, or mailing addresses, you are obligated to have a legal statement available for users to review that discloses the privacy practices of your business.
People care a lot about their privacy, especially when it comes to the use of their private information online. Most users want to feel secure before providing private information, such as the home address.
Affiliate Disclosure is also a very important page to have on your website if you intend to make money from affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing platforms like Bluehost and many others require that you state out an affiliate disclosure policy on your website and any article that contains an affiliate link.
Affiliate link disclosures are an FTC-mandated practice. Essentially, whenever a link is used on your website that results in a fee, you must disclose this information to site visitors.
This stretches beyond affiliate links, and must also be done for endorsements, sponsorships, and the like. Remember, disclosures are not punishments. Instead, they are a system used for the benefit of consumers and marketers alike.
Having a contact us page on your website makes it very easy for people to do business with you, it has also become mandatory when applying to get Google Adsense approval.
Aside from getting a Google Adsense approval, your online business should have an effective channel to which you can be contacted, you never can tell what opportunities lie ahead.
The content of your Contact Us page should contain useful information like a reachable email address, Phone number or better still a contact form. You can make use of a WordPress plugin called WP Forms to help you achieve this.
When it comes to running an online business, there are various factors involved apart from owning just a domain name or building a web application.

One of the factors that makes your blog successful is the ability to produce content that aligns with user search intent. This implies that you should write content that end users are searching for using search engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, and Duck Duck Go.
When planning your content strategy, think about what your reader wants when they are performing an online search for your target keyword.
Blogs are no longer places where you simply write updates and gain a following and begin to have sleepless nights about what to write next, or in most cases ignore the blog and go on to do something else.
They are now Google-driven websites that require organic search traffic, and this is what every blogger should be aiming for to be more productive and create a money-making blog.
To achieve this, each blog post should focus on one or two major target keyword, preferably long-tail keywords. To make put this into action, these keywords should be included.
1. Your blog’s permanent URL.
2. The title of your post.
3. Add your keyword to the first or second paragraph.
4. Include the keyword inside of your headings.
5. Add the keyword throughout your blog post.
Also make sure not to spam the content that you intend to create with too many keywords, as it might cause your blog to rank low on search engines.
Search engine platforms like Google are forced to identify your website as spam and rank it low.
Your blog posts should always provide value to your readers. Write with a clear beginning, middle, and end outline structure. Present your blog content attractively and make it easily accessible to your readers.
Make sure both textual and visual content in the blog are high-quality.
Format your headings correctly with H2 and H3 tags, and use bulleted lists and images to break up long lines of text. No paragraph should be longer than 3-4 sentences.
Also, make sure to use readable fonts and use white space to keep your blog posts easy on the eyes, lastly, Double-check for typos, grammatical errors and make sure to come back and update, regularly to keep ranking on search engines.

One of your best bets to sustain and grow your intended blog is to make it search engine optimized, making it more visible in search results, and one way I would highlight in the post is the permalink structure of your website. Permalinks are static hyperlinks that will lead your audience to a specific web page.
By default, your permalink is set to
This not only looks unattractive but is abysmal from the SEO point of view as well. So, before you get down to writing content for your blog, make sure to set a specific permalink structure.

Creating a blog with the sole aim of distributing copyrighted music and videos is a very bad idea and a very poor way to make an impression as a blogger.
Music and Videos distributed should be designed and hosted on their respective platforms.
Online video platform like YouTube, Vimeo should be held responsible for your videos and music distribution platforms like Soundcloud, AUdio mack, Deezer should do the heavy lifting of hosting sounds. A blog is meant to be an information spot.
11. Stats/Visitor Location.
Most times newbie bloggers often like to display the relevance of the blogs by adding a stats widget alongside their Blog design. This might look good to you but in turn, you tend to displease your audience, who cares about where your visitors are coming from? That should be known to you

To be honest with you, there is a lot to learn when it comes to blogging, though it may seem like such an interesting profession, it comes with its up and down.

1. How Fast can I make money with Blogging.
Blogging is all about the audience, making money fast as a blogger is determined by the amount of audience you are capable of generating.
Like I will always say, the internet is a game of numbers, the more visible you are on the internet, the more likely you are to make money.
If you are just starting afresh without any audience, then you might need to wear the garment of patience and lots of SEO knowledge to your toolbelt.
To be blunt and straight forward, the (return on Investment)ROI for blogging is usually between 12 months -24 months, that is if you have a well-projected revenue strategy.
Just in case you don’t know how to make money with your blog, here is an article I recommend you read.
2. I don’t have money, how can I start a Blog.
You can start a blog with no cash at hand with the aid of free blog hosting platforms such as Blogspot, Wix and the free-hosted WordPress version.
One thing about blogging for free is that you don’t have control over your infrastructure which makes it very easy to lose your progress.
Another reason why blogging for free can do you harm lies in the fact that you are likely not going to be able to monetize such a blog.

My Secret Recipe To Achieving Success In Blogging.
Before going deep into the next section where I give details about you can start a blog, I want to make a few points clear to you as an enthusiastic blogger who wants to be successful.
Most times you don’t clearly understand the path to your blogging success until you get started, there are so many articles online that write and teach newbie bloggers how to start and run a successful blog, but not all of these guides are valid. When you look online, you read about successful blogs like Harsh Argawal of Shoutmeloud.com, Neil Patel of Ubbersuggest, Rob of Ryob.com, and many other blogs that you must have come across before coming to this one.
These bloggers are great when it comes to writing about starting a blog, and I learnt a lot from them when I was starting on my journey to becoming a successful full-time blogger, they say a lot of things, and even claim to know some things that you don’t know, and they don’t want you to find out, they tell you about things like guest posting for links, keyword research, getting traffic with Pinterest and so many other pieces of stuff that takes forever to achieve, and you think that there is a secret recipe somewhere to become successful as a blogger.
Let me tell you something, aside from redirecting you to buying a domain name, and a web host with their Bluehost affiliate link, teaching you to set up a basic WordPress website and telling you about the importance of choosing a blog niche as a blogger, all the other things they have to say about blog growth and sustainability are things seems impossible.
Before proceeding with the next paragraph, you should follow the link to buy a domain on Bluehost for as low as $3 now
To be frank, what most of these guys enjoy is the benefits of the early-comers which take time to achieve. The majority of them started their blog as far back as 2003- 2008 when Google was in its early stage of growth, a lot of things were not as sophisticated as now, back then there was no machine learning that could classify contents based on the user search intent. During these periods they have built backlinks and domain authority which makes it difficult for them to go down again.
I am not writing this article to throw shades at these guys but to tell you that a lot of things has changed. Back then when I started my first blog in 2014, just after three months my Blogspot website was ranked at number 3 Million in the world, now I started a website in 2019, with more powerful content, self-hosted WordPress website, and after one year I am struggling to stay at number 28 Million globally.
All I am saying is, the competition is becoming very strong and only getting stronger, scaling a blog to success requires more than just buying a cool domain name and a self-hosted WordPress blog.
Most of these big guys tried starting a new website, as they did before, but a majority of them do not make it big as they did as the website that they started earlier.
In this section, just before going into the practical guide as stated below, here are some of my simple win tricks that you should keep in mind.
When starting a blog make sure that you get the first 50 posts up on the blog within the first three months, also make sure that they are more than 2,000 words count.
The next thing I would like to say is to stay away from publishing news content on your blog, there are likely chances that you will duplicate content. If you are not a registered online news Journal please stay away from it.
Most bloggers think that blogging is about posting new content every day, most time they even go to the extent of adding viral content, the answer is No. All Google care about is how relevant your content is, Period.
If you intend to monetize your blog with Google Adsense make sure to get your account approved between the first one month of operation, otherwise you will have issues getting approved. This helps you to put things in place as quick as possible because it is hard to audit a website for Google Adsense approval when it has a lot of contents on it. If Google Adsense does not work for you, another great alternative is Mediavine.
After you have gotten your first 50 contents on your blog, the next step is to do nothing, wait, and let Google find you itself, no backlink hack, or dark SEO tactics, and even social media, allow Google to work its wonders.
Most times, your waiting period is usually between the first 9-months and 24-months.
Also, make sure you go back to this content to edit them with fresh contents as often as possible, it makes Google see your website as fresh.
Now that you know have a basic breakdown of what to do, I recommend you purchase a domain and a web host on Bluehost now.
Affiliate marketing is also another great tactics to make money, all you need do to get started with affiliate marketing is to look at all your contents and seek out affiliate marketing programs that suit them, sign up for these affiliate marketing programs and link them up into your contents.
Make sure you digest this part of this article so well before moving on to the next, and if you are clear with all I said from the beginning, then you are free to move on to the next.
