So many questions are being asked via the Quora platform and usually attract so many ideas from various users, all you need do is post your blog post that answers a certain question on the platform, also make sure that you don’t spam the answer section with too many links as your post can be deleted on Quora.

4. Email Marketing.

Email marketing is the act of sending a commercial message, typically to a group of people, using email. In its broadest sense, every email sent to a potential or current customer could be considered email marketing.

Medium is an online publishing platform developed by Evan Williams and launched in August 2012.

It is owned by A Medium Corporation.

The platform is an example of social journalism, having a hybrid collection of amateur and professional people and publications, or exclusive blogs or publishers on Medium, and is regularly regarded as a blog host.

Williams, previously co-founder of Blogger and Twitter, initially developed Medium as a way to publish writings and documents longer than Twitter’s 140-character (now 280-character) maximum.

Outreaching a global audience becomes very hard when you blog alone, the best way to get your content out there is to make use of publishing platforms like Medium.

All you need do is create an account and share your thoughts, also make sure that you link that your blog or website when writing.

6. Online Forums.

An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages.

They differ from chat rooms in that messages are often longer than one line of text, and are at least temporarily archived. Also, depending on the access level of a user or the forum set-up, a posted message might need to be approved by a moderator before it becomes publicly visible.

One thing about online forums is that it varies by region or country.

If you seek traffic from the United states then you should explore forums like Reddit most especially, online forums like Nairaland is native to Africa mostly Nigeria.

So do make sure you do your research on on the geographic location where any online forum is more dominant.

7. YouTube.

YouTube allows users to upload, view, rate, share, add to playlists, report, comment on videos, and subscribe to other users.

It offers a wide variety of user-generated and corporate media videos.

Available content includes video clips, TV show clips, music videos, short and documentary films, audio recordings, movie trailers, live streams, and other content such as video blogging, short original videos, and educational videos.

If you are YouTuber you would discover that more features that support the use of links have been added, also included recently is the platform for discussion.

You can write articles on YouTube and link back to your website, writing an elaborate description in your video is also an amazing way to get traffic to your website.

Here is an article i recommend that you read in order to get started with YouTube.

8. Use Facebook Groups.

A Facebook Group is a feature integrated into the Facebook platform for group communication and for people to share their common interests and express their opinion.

They let people come together around a common cause, issue or activity to organize, express objectives, discuss issues, post photos, and share related content.

Anybody can set up and manage their own Facebook Group, and you can even join up to 6,000 other Groups.

There are three types of groups on Facebook, depending on the group’s privacy settings:

1. Open.

Anyone can view the group, its members, and their posts.

2. Closed.

Anyone can view the group and its members, but only members can see group posts.

3. Secret.

Only members can see the group or any of its information. People who are not members won’t even be able to see that the group exists.

One thing about a Facebook group that is more better than a Facebook page is that you can reach more people via a Facebook group than a Facebook page.

Lets say you have 10K members on your Facebook group, you can reach out to each of them anytime you make a post.

This is not same for a Facebook page, only less than 10% of your Facebook Fan page followers see’s you post.

which means you have to get large number of followers on your Facebook page to be able to make a very huge impact.

Other Metrics You Should Be Tracking.

So many bloggers or online business owners become very happy when they see the sudden surge in their web traffic after maybe some very few hacks, this is a good sign but should not be a thing of joy completely because there are other metrics used by search engines like Google and some of these other important metrics are .

1. Bounce Rate.

Bounce Rate is the percentage of people that land on a page and leave.

A bounce is a single-page session on your site.

In Google Analytics, a bounce is calculated specifically as a session that triggers only a single request to the Analytics server, such as when a user opens a single page on your site and then exits without triggering any other requests to the Analytics server during that session.

Bounce rate is single-page sessions divided by all sessions, or the percentage of all sessions on your site in which users viewed only a single page and triggered only a single request to the Analytics server.

If the success of your site depends on users viewing more than one page, then, yes, a high bounce rate is bad. For example, if your home page is the gateway to the rest of your site (e.g., news articles, product pages, your checkout process) and a high percentage of users are viewing only your home page, then you don’t want a high bounce rate.

On the other hand, if you have a single-page site like a blog, or offer other types of content for which single-page sessions are expected, then a high bounce rate is perfectly normal.

2. Session Duration.

A session in Google Analytics is simply a visit to your website. A session starts when someone views a page on your website and ends either when they leave your website or after 30 minutes of inactivity. Everything a user does during that visit is counted as a single session.

If that same user comes back a few days later and visits your website again, that’s counted as another session. So if one person visits your site 15 separate times during a week, those 15 visits would be counted as 15 sessions.

When a session starts, Google Analytics begins timing the session. That timer stops when the user ends the session via leaving your site, or it stops when the user has been inactive for 30 minutes.

Session duration tells Google alot about your website and this helps Google determine if your page is qualitative enough.

A good average session duration, might be anything above three minutes.

Getting traffic is not enough reason to generate enough money-making result, one way to check if you are actually making sense as a blogger is by taking more deeper insight into the health of your website.

There is a lot to know than just having traffic, and one way to boost your session duration and bounce rate is by writing very good content.

Here is an article i recommend you read to help you write good contents on Google.
